Scott Birchell is a Californian photographer who creates impressionistic landscape and still-life photos using the motion blur technique. For the past 20 years of his career, he has worked on bringing dynamism and movement back into the otherwise inert genre. Since his youth, he has had an eye for spotting the unique intersection of light and composition, creating a vibrant brush-stroked effect on the image. With the digitalisation of the darkroom, he has created a body of work that captures the different hues of refracted light and evokes the feeling of abstract oil painting.
